Lisa Schuman, LCSW

Lisa Schuman, LCSW is a psychotherapist counseling individuals, couples and groups in our Manhattan and Westchester locations, Driven to help others after experiencing infertility herself, Lisa has practiced in the field and for over a decade and has helped thousands of patients along the way. Ms. Schuman specializes in infertility, ovum donation, perinatal loss, single parent issues, gay and lesbian issues, surrogacy and adoption. She earned her graduate degree at Yeshiva University and studied psychoanalysis at the Greenwich Institute in Manhattan. She has worked with the Object Relations Institute and the National Institute for the Psychotherapies She is founding director of Adoption Cooperative Consultants, an adoption-consulting group and is a former board member and support group leader for the American Fertility Association. She is actively involved with many other infertility and adoption organizations and is an active member of the Mental Health Professional Group for the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Known for her expertise and selfless compassion to help others, Ms. Schuman is repeatedly asked to speak at local and national symposiums and television programs.

In addition to leading private individual and couples therapy sessions at RMA of New York, Ms. Schuman spearheads Lunch with Lisa every Friday, an intimate and unique support group session welcoming patients to join her for lunch, enabling open discussion and fostering a support network for patients undergoing fertility treatment.
